# Export and deletion

Export a site as a zip of daily traffic, events, payments and ad spend, and delete a site, a connection or your account.

You can export a site's data from Settings and delete a site, a billing connection, an API key or an ad spend row yourself in the dashboard. Export before you delete anything you want to keep.

## Export a site

Open the site's Settings → General → Export data. ProductLense builds a zip file with these files:

| File | Contents |
|---|---|
| `traffic_daily` | Visitors, pageviews and sessions per day |
| `pages_daily` | Traffic per page per day |
| `geo_daily` | Traffic per country per day |
| `events_daily` | Custom event counts per day |
| `payments` | Payments with amounts, fees, currency and attributed channel, without customer names or emails |
| `ad_spend` | Every ad spend row |
| `README` | What each file and column means |

The range is capped by your plan's history window (Free 30 days, Starter 365 days, Growth and Scale unlimited; see [Plans and limits](/docs/account/plans-and-limits)). You can export up to 5 times per hour per site. Cells that start like a spreadsheet formula are neutralised, so opening a file in Excel or Sheets never runs a formula from tracked data. Payments and customers also remain in your billing provider, which is the source of record.

## Delete a site

1. Open the site's Settings → Danger zone.
2. Type the site name to confirm.
3. Select Delete site permanently.

Only owners and admins can delete a site. The site stops accepting events at once. Its goals, funnels, billing connections, API keys, customers, payments and ad spend rows are removed. This cannot be undone, so [export](#export-a-site) first.

Analytics data is purged within minutes of deleting a site or account, and always within 7 days; backup copies expire within 30 days. See the [DPA](/legal/dpa).

## Delete other things

| What | Where | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Billing connection | Settings → Billing connections | ProductLense stops reading from the provider; payments already stored stay until the site is deleted. Revoke the key or token in the provider as well. |
| API key | Settings → API keys | Requests with the key fail with `401` straight away. |
| Ad spend row | Profit | The row no longer counts in profit, CAC, ROAS or payback. |
| Team member | Settings → Team | They lose access to every site in the account. |

## Delete your account

The account owner can delete the account in the dashboard. Deleting an account deletes all of its sites as above. Analytics data is purged within minutes of deleting a site or account, and always within 7 days; backup copies expire within 30 days.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> ProductLense refuses to delete an account while a paid subscription is active. Cancel the plan first; see [Billing and invoices](/docs/account/billing-and-invoices).

## Requests from your visitors and customers

You are the controller of your visitors' and customers' data, and ProductLense is your processor. If someone asks you to delete their data, delete the matching rows at the source (your billing provider) and contact us with the user id you passed to `identify`. See [GDPR and India DPDP](/docs/privacy/gdpr-and-dpdp).
