The problem

A small store spends on Meta and Google, posts on Instagram, and gets press mentions. Ad platforms each claim the same sale, and refunds never reach the ad dashboards. The owner needs one view of which channel leaves money after refunds and spend.

Orders and refunds from Shopify

A custom app with read_orders and read_customers scopes lets ProductLense backfill 12 months of paid orders and refunds and keep them in sync by webhook. Each order is attributed once, to the buyer’s first touch, so two ad platforms cannot both take credit.

Profit after spend and refunds

Import Meta and Google spend as CSV with the same source and campaign values as your ad URLs. ProductLense subtracts spend and refunds from attributed order revenue and shows profit and ROAS per channel and campaign.

Cookieless on the storefront

The script goes in theme.liquid, sets no cookies, and stores no IP addresses. Visitors who would decline a consent banner are still counted, which keeps channel numbers complete.

Shopify brands: questions

Does ProductLense include Shopify payment fees?
Not for Shopify. Fees live in Shopify’s Payouts API, not the orders API ProductLense reads, so they are recorded as 0 and profit is before payment fees. Every other part, revenue, refunds and ad spend, is subtracted as normal. The Shopify integration page states this limit.
Will ProductLense track Shopify checkout pages?
ProductLense tracks pages where its script runs, which is your theme. Shopify’s checkout is a separate surface where theme scripts generally do not run, so ProductLense attributes orders through the customer email instead of a checkout pageview. Call identify with the customer email on account pages if you can.
Does ProductLense replace Meta and Google Ads reporting?
It answers the question of which channel made money, because it credits each order once, to the buyer’s first touch, and subtracts refunds and spend. It does not replace ad platform reporting for creative, audience or bid decisions, and it has no view-through attribution.
Which plan does a Shopify store need?
Starter at $19 a month connects Shopify and shows revenue by channel for 100k events a month. Growth at $49 adds profit with ad spend, CSV import, cohorts and 1M events, which most stores spending on ads will want. Annual billing gives two months free.
Does ProductLense handle Shopify subscriptions?
The Shopify connector reads paid orders, refunds and customers; it does not read subscription contracts. Recurring orders still arrive as paid orders and are attributed, but MRR and churn for Shopify subscriptions are not shown. Stores billing subscriptions through Stripe can connect Stripe as well.

Free up to 10k events a month. No card.

Add the script, connect Stripe or any of 14 other billing providers, and see revenue by channel the same day.
