Goals, funnels, journeys: questions
Something else? Write to us and a person replies.
What can a goal be?
Any custom event name, any page path or pattern such as /docs/*, or an element marked with a data-pl-goal attribute in your HTML. Goals are on every plan and count conversions per channel, page, country and device like any other report, so you can see which sources bring the visitors who reach them.
How far back do funnels and journeys go?
Step-by-step funnels read raw events, which are kept for 90 days, so a funnel covers any range inside the last 90 days. Visitor journeys keep a compact timeline for 25 months on Growth and Scale and 12 months on Starter, so you can open the path of a customer who paid long ago.
Does a funnel show revenue?
Yes. The last step shows the revenue of the customers who reached it, taken from your billing provider, so you can see what improving a step would be worth. Each step also shows its conversion from the previous step and how many visitors dropped there, so you can see where buyers leave.
Which plans include funnels and journeys?
Goals are on every plan, including Free. Funnels of 2 to 8 steps and visitor journeys start on Starter at $19 a month, with longer journey history on Growth and Scale. Team members are unlimited on every plan, so a marketer or a cofounder can build funnels without an extra seat or extra cost.
Can a funnel mix pages and events?
Yes. Each step can be a page, a page pattern or a custom event, in any order, such as landing page, pricing, the signup event and then a payment. ProductLense counts the visitors who reached each step in that order within the period, which is how the drop between steps is measured.
