PostHog alternatives

PostHog alternatives: questions
- What is a simpler alternative to PostHog?
- Plausible and Umami are much simpler if you only need traffic. ProductLense is simpler if your question is which channels bring paying customers: one 2.3 KB script, a billing connection form, and a sources table with revenue, spend and profit. None of these offer PostHog’s replay or flags.
- Which PostHog alternative shows Stripe revenue by channel?
- ProductLense connects Stripe with a restricted API key and a webhook, backfills 12 months, and attributes each payment to the visitor’s first touch, so revenue by source and campaign appears without a data warehouse. It does the same for nine other providers and a payment API.
- Is there a cookieless PostHog alternative?
- ProductLense, Plausible and Umami are cookieless by default; Matomo has a cookieless mode. PostHog uses local storage and a cookie by default and offers memory-only persistence. ProductLense identifies visitors for one day with a salted hash and links them across days only when you call identify.
- Should I replace PostHog with ProductLense?
- Only if you use PostHog mainly for web analytics and revenue. ProductLense has no session replay, feature flags, experiments or surveys, and they are not planned for v1. Many teams keep PostHog for the product team and use ProductLense for acquisition, revenue and profit per channel.
- Is Mixpanel or Amplitude better than PostHog?
- They are all event-based product analytics tools with funnels and retention; the right choice depends on your team, volume and existing stack. None of the three reads billing providers directly. For revenue attribution to marketing channels, pair any of them with ProductLense using the same user id.
