Visitors and journeys
Find a visitor by user id or visitor id and see every page, event and payment in their journey with the first touch that brought them.
The Visitors page lists everyone who visited in the selected range, newest activity first. Open a visitor to see their journey: the first touch that brought them and a timeline of pageviews, events, identify calls and payments.
The visitors list
Each row shows the visitor, their channel and source, country, device, number of events, revenue and when they were last seen. Identified visitors show the user id you passed to identify instead of the anonymous visitor id.
- Search by user id or visitor id with the search field.
- Turn on Identified only to hide anonymous visitors.
The list reads raw events, so it covers ranges of up to 90 days.
A visitor's journey
The journey page shows:
- First touch: the channel, source, medium, campaign, referrer and landing page of the visitor's first pageview. This is what payments are attributed to; see How payments are attributed.
- Timeline: pageviews, custom events,
identifycalls and payments in time order. The first 200 events are shown. - Revenue: the sum of payments attributed to this visitor, in USD.
Visitor journeys are on the Starter plan and above.
Why the same person can appear more than once
A visitor id is a daily hash of the site, IP address and browser, so one person is a new anonymous visitor each day and on each device. Once your code calls identify with your user id, those visits are linked to the same user. See Cookieless visitor counting and Identify users.
