Import from Plausible
Bring your Plausible history into ProductLense: upload Plausible's CSV export and the days before you installed ProductLense fill your reports.
Moving from Plausible? Import your history so your charts do not start on the day you installed ProductLense.
Export from Plausible
In Plausible, open your site's Site settings → Imports & exports → Export data. Plausible emails you a .zip of CSV files (one per report). Files up to 50 MB import in one go; for larger sites, export one year at a time.
Import into ProductLense
- In ProductLense, open your site's Settings → Import (owners and admins).
- Choose the zip. Optionally set Import up to to stop at a given day.
- Click Import. The import runs in the background and the list shows it as Importing…, then Imported, usually within a minute.
Imported days fill only the time before your first tracked day in ProductLense (and stop two days before today). Days ProductLense already tracked are skipped and shown as skipped, so nothing is counted twice. Importing days that overlap an earlier import is refused: delete that import first.
What is imported
| Plausible report | In ProductLense |
|---|---|
| Visitors, pageviews, visits | Overview totals and the chart |
| Sources and UTM tags | Channels, referrers and campaigns, classified with ProductLense's own channel rules |
| Pages | Pages |
| Entry and exit pages | Entry and exit pages, bounce rate and visit duration |
| Locations | Countries (regions and cities are not imported) |
| Devices, browsers, operating systems | Devices, browsers and operating systems |
| Custom events | Goals and events (Plausible's built-in outbound link and file download events are skipped) |
Revenue is not part of Plausible's export; connect your billing provider and ProductLense imports 12 months of payments from it directly.
How the numbers compare
Imported reports match Plausible's daily numbers. Across several days, visitors are the sum of each day's visitors, the same way Plausible counts its own imported data, so a returning visitor counts once per day. Filters that combine two reports (for example pages from one country) do not apply to imported days, because Plausible exports each report on its own.
Delete an import
In Settings → Import, click Delete next to it. Its days disappear from every report; tracked data is never touched. You can then import again.
Coming next
Google Analytics 4 import is next on the list.
